There are some companies that just get it.  Comcast – this time anyway – seems to be one of them.  If you subscribe to the Xfinity TV service from Comcast, you can download the Xfinity iPad app free and enjoy your content on the go.

With the Comcast Xfinity app, you'll be able to watch television and movies on demand no matter where you are.  Even better, Xfinity allows you to watch selections premium channels that you subscribe to.  Did you miss 'Entourage' last night?  Scroll it up on your iPad.

In addition to watching shows, you've got control over your DVR so you can program on the go.  You can use your iPad as an advanced TV guide and sort content by genre so you can find just what you're in the mood for.

To download the app yourself, head on over to Comcast.

It is nice to be able to you the iPad on more day to day functions but I'm not
sure this got it right. Yes you can use it as a remote and view live TV and some
limited content but that is only in your house. That probably explains why they
changed the name from "TV Everywhere". DISH Network has a similar
product that I believe exceeds this. You can do all the changing channels and
watching TV as well as DVR recordings, not to mention manage the schedule and
upcoming show. And you can do all of this from anywhere in the world with an
internet connection. Being a DISH employee I have had plenty of time to get
familiar with both options offered as well as a few others, DISH is leading the
curve with the new technology in my opinion. The Xfinity honestly just breaks
down to a fancy remote.
