Bang & Olufsen, makers of the BeoVision line of TVs have created their fist iPod dock, designed for compatibility with the iPod, iPhone and even the iPad.
They call it the BeoSound 8 and it looks absolutely sleek. It's thin and white, with a bit of aluminum finish in the center. Looked at head on, it even seems like it's floating a bit. Aesthetically speaking, the BeoSound 8 is one impressive unit. B&O doesn't get specific with the audio components, but they do boast that the BeoSound 8 is capable of reproducing bass frequencies as low as 38Hz which is practically unheard of in an iPod dock this size. The unit itself includes a switch for adjusting the audio depending on placement. In addition to the dock itself, B&O is launching a pair of applications. The free version lets you access Net Radio and enables alarm clock functionality. The paid version runs $20 and includes access to 10,000 radio stations, a comprehensive browser and an improved alarm clock. You'll be able to pick up a BeoSound 8 for yourself later this month at a price of $999. |
