Samsung is taking a step in the right direction though – a big step.  The company is planning to begin production of 55 inch OLED televisions as early as next year.  The initial 4,000 set run will act as a test for the market and for the product itself.

There's no word yet from Samsung on what kind of pricing we'll be looking at when these finally become available for purchase or whether these will be exclusive to Southeast Asia.  Based on a Korean news article, it looks like 2012 is the aim for release.
