Netflix revealed its third quarter results today and as you might imagine, they're doing pretty well.   In fact, the company says that it added four million subscribers in the last three months bringing the grand total to just under 17 million.

Revenue and margin are at an all time high with the company taking in $553 million in the three month period with an impressive 37.7 percent margin.  CEO Reed Hastings attributes the success to streaming, stating "This growth is clearly driven by the strength of our streaming offering."

Hastings says that the company should now be thought of primarily as a streaming service that also does discs by mail, rather than the other way around.  He says that the streaming service has been incredibly successful in Canada and suggested that something similar would be hitting state side in not too long.

There's no word on when we'll see the service and at what price point, but you can comfortably expect something akin to what Canadian customers get.
