Last week Sony announced disc-free streaming was on the way for the PS3 and today it's finally here.  PS3 owners can jump on and download the Netflix app and run it from their system without having to put in a disc.

Certain titles will also stream with 5.1 channel surround sound and one more surprise – 1080p.  Originally, Sony announced the resolution as 1080i, but they've since changed their statement and revealed that the system is fully capable of 1080p streams.

With the PS3 and Xbox 360 able to stream using installed programs the Wii was starting to look a little left out, but Netflix jumped right on that.  As of today, you can download a new Wii Channel that will allow you to watch Netflix directly from your console without having to install a disc.

Now that all three game consoles are capable of streaming from Netflix natively, it seems like the company's service is on just about every piece of hardware you could want it for.  That has to be great news for the folks at Netflix.
