Looking for action?  How about a supernatural thriller?  Both are in theaters this week, along with a movie about people hurting themselves for laughs.  It's not exactly high concept, but it is in 3D.

'Red' is yet another relatively unknown D.C. comic book franchise like 'The Losers ' and 'Jonah Hex' that's making its way to the big screen.  Unlike the last two, 'Red' is actually pretty good.  It's got an all star cast including Bruce Willis, Hellen Mirren, Morgan Freeman and John Malkovich and it's just plain fun.

Hereafter (limited)

Take a brilliant actor – Matt Damon – and put him together with an incredibly talented director – Clint Eastwood.  The end result will almost always be fantastic, and 'Hereafter' certainly is.  It hasn't been getting the praise that 'Invictus ' did, but 'Hereafter' takes a very different tone and explores the issues one faces when dealing with death.

Jackass 3-D

At some point it's going to get really sad watching the 'Jackass' crew do what they do.  Johnny Knoxville is 39 and his fellow Jackasses aren't far behind him.  This may be the last time out for the 'Jackass' boys so if you're not averse to people going to disturbing lengths to entertain, you won't want to miss this.  It's in 3D too, which will almost certainly add to the entertainment factor.

Also Coming Out This Week

Conviction (limited)
Samson and Delilah (limited)
Down Terrace (limited)

Vision: From the Life of Hildegard von Binge (limited)
Carlos (limited)
