We tend to focus on home theater here at AV Rev, but it's hard to ignore the ever increasing amount of entertainment options available in your car.

The newest chipset from National Semiconductor boasts HDCP and the ability to handle 720p content.  That means Blu-ray players in your car are next on the list.  The chipset, known as the FPD-Link III, uses the DS90UH925Q serializer and DS90UH926Q deserializer.

National Semiconductor says their new chipset can handle 24-bit color video data over distances of 10 meters which allows designers to create a modular platform of source and display options.

The new serializer and deserializer are sampling now and are expected to go into full production in the second quarter of 2011.
