Two new amplifiers, the MC452 and MC302, have been announced by McIntosh. Both sport the new McIntosh faceplate, the new easier to read watt meters, and a look that's uniquely McIntosh.
The MC302 is the most advanced amp that McIntosh has produced at the 300 watt per channel level. Like the new 450 watt per channel MC452, it offers the ability to mate with any loudspeaker thanks to the McIntosh Autoformer. Each of McIntosh's new amps utilizes an oversized power transformer that's separated in an aluminum enclosure which is further sealed with potting tar. This, in addition to Thermal Track technology, keeps the amplifiers running cool and quiet. The MC452 will be available later this month at a price of $7,500 while the MC302 will sell for $5,500 when it is available this October. |
