The final piece of Sharp's big 3D push is a projector. It's Sharp's fist 3D projector for the consumer market, but from the spec sheet, things are sounding pretty good.
The XV-Z17000 leverages DLP technology for color accuracy and a 250 watt lamp that can pump out 1600 lumens in high brightness mode. It's got a contrast ratio of 30,000:1 which isn't outstanding, but it's definitely not bad. A particularly nice feature of the Z17000 is the ultra-quiet fan that produces only 23dB of noise when Eco+Quiet mode is enabled. That means you'll be hearing less noise from the fan and clearer audio from your speakers. The MSRP for the Z17000 hasn't been determined yet, but you can expect to see the Z17000 hitting shelves at the beginning of next year. |
