Deciding between Sherwood's new RD-7505 and the RD-705i all comes down to one thing.  Do you want to stream music from the Pandora, Reciva, Shoutcast or your home network?  If so, you'll need the 705i.

The receivers are more or less identical with the exception of networking capabilities.  Both are 3DTV ready with HDMI 1.4 inputs and repeater circuitry for processing high-resolution Dolby and DTS signals.  Both utilize discrete power amplifiers sending 100 watts RMS at 8 othms and both use 192kHz/24 bit DACs for all channels.

Sherwood also incorporated the SNAP system, which automatically calibrates the receiver for your room thanks to a series of audio tests with the included microphone.  There's also Dual Zone capability, which puts the main room into a 5.1 channel configuration and uses two amplifier channels to play back stereo audio in a second room.

You'll find the RD-705i on shelves in November at a price of $499.  The RD-7505 will launch the same month, but at a price of $399.
