This weekend is one of the biggest for high-end home theater gear and it's often a time for companies to unveil new products and show off new technology. Last year, Atlantic took that opportunity to showcase H-PAS, which allows for impressive bass out of smaller cabinets.
This year, the company is showing just what it's tech can do by showing – for the first time ever – a prototype bookshelf speaker using the H-PAS system. "These new little bookshelf speakers are going to turn quite a few heads," says Peter Tribeman, president of Atlantic Technology. "The H-PAS algorithm has proven remarkably versatile as we scale it up and down." Atlantic boasts that the new AT-2, which has an acoustic volume of less than a cubic foot, is able to produce a full, rich bass response down to 38Hz at -3dB. Production of the AT-2 will likely start this winter, with pricing yet to be announced. |
