CEDIA is still a few weeks away and companies are already starting to announce their offerings for the big show. Professional Home Cinema (PHC) has plenty to announce, with the unveiling of a whole new line of programmable modular amplifiers.
Every one of the new PMA-Series amplifiers sports a four channel mainframe with a dealer programmable DSP engine. They've got ICEpower Class-D amplification and can supply up to 4,000 watts of power from a surprisingly light 20 pound chassis. This is the first line of products featuring FIR, which stands for Finite Impulse Response. FIR is a new technology that's designed to give a far better speaker response than traditional active or passive methods. You'll be able to find PMA-Series Programmable Modular Amplifiers shipping in early 2011. |
