If you want to be one of the first people with access to the movie that spurred on the 3D revolution, you're going to have to stick with Panasonic.  Starting this December, 'Avatar' will be available on Blu-ray 3D, but only to those who buy a Panasonic Viera plasma TV.  It's the biggest movie of all time, but you'll only be able to get it as a pack-in until the exclusivity deal is up.

According to Panasonic VP Victor Carlson, the company is trying to work out a way to give early adopters – those who already bought 3D capable Panasonic plasmas – the same benefit.  "We are really trying to stay focused on what is best for our consumers," said Carlson, "and really see our mission as trying to create as much value for our customers as possible."

If you're not planning on picking up a Panasonic plasma this holiday season, then you're going to need to hit up eBay if you're hoping for the 3D 'Avatar' experience.  No dates have been announced as far as the exclusivity goes, but you can expect it to last through the winter TV buying season.
