There's an epidemic in home theaters across our country.  It's affecting people who have no idea how badly their suffering, and it doesn't show any signs of slowing down.  It's called "Bad Audio" and it strikes directly at those listening to TV and movies through their television's built in speakers.

Polk's SurroundBar 6000 is like a quick shot in the arm for these poor folks.  It's not what you'd call a full home theater system, but it's a huge step up from the 10 or 15 watts of speaker included in most television sets.  The SurroundBar 6000 provides up to 160 watts of power to four built-in speakers.  It's capable of stereo sound and simulated surround, and can be simply hooked up to just about any source you've got.

Sound bars like this suffer when it comes to bass response, which is why Polk is including a wireless seven inch subwoofer.  Seven inches isn't much, but it can make all the difference in the world when it's a small sub or nothing.  You'll see the SurroundBar 6000 start hitting stores this September.

Philips et al put out HT in a
box for prices like $199
and gave people the
impression
that was all they needed.
Best Buy et al bought this crap
and sold
it...without a concern
as to what they were doing...then
real hi fi suffered.
Poor judgement at best
