If you've got a Samsung Blu-ray player from 2009 – a BD-Px600 – you may want to steer clear of the most recent piece of firmware.  Samsung owners from all over are complaining that the newest update to their players is making Universal and Warner disks unplayable.

The only real solution is to stick with the version 2.07 firmware.  If you've already updated, you can still fix the issue with a manual installation of the old firmware, but it's a bit of a complex process.

Samsung says that a new update to fix the issue will be coming in the next few weeks, but until then, movies like 'The Book of Eli,' 'Sherlock Holmes,' and even the newly released 'Time Bandits' are being reported as nonfunctional in Samsung Blu-ray players.
