George Lucas is the guy responsible for the 'Star Wars' trilogy, a movie series that has managed to live on through generations and find new fans along the way.  He's also responsible for atrocities like the 'Star Wars' prequels and the special edition versions of the original movies.

Fans – the folks that make it so George Lucas never has to work another day in his life – hate those special editions.  But guess which version is coming to Blu-ray?

It's hard to tell what's going on in Lucas's mind.  Instead of giving the fans a wonderful HD transfer of the movies they love, he's giving them Greedo shooting first, a digital Jabba the Hutt and an absolutely dreadful dance sequence. The reason, according to Lucas, is that transferring the original films to Blu-ray would have been too costly.

So there you have it.  The movie trilogy we've been waiting for since Blu-ray was first brought to market is finally getting the HD treatment.  It's just not coming out in the form that we expected.
