Samsung has plenty of 3D capable DLP televisions on the market right now, and they all work fine when it comes to a 3D signal sent from PC. When it comes to 3D video from cable or Blu-rays though, they just don't work.
Samsung has really dropped the ball when it comes to supporting DLP, but thankfully Mitsubishi and a company called Tru3D have picked it up and ran with it. The Tru3D conversion kit is simple enough. It consists of Mitsubishi's 3DA-1 converter for its 3D capable DLP televisions and a spoofer that makes the converter thing it's talking to a Mitsubishi television. Essentially, it's a way to use Mitsubishi's solution on your Samsung TV. Tre3D is taking orders for the adapter kit now at a price of $289. The adapters should start shipping later this month. |
