Samsung has plenty of 3D capable DLP televisions on the market right now, and they all work fine when it comes to a 3D signal sent from PC.  When it comes to 3D video from cable or Blu-rays though, they just don't work.

Samsung has really dropped the ball when it comes to supporting DLP, but thankfully Mitsubishi and a company called Tru3D have picked it up and ran with it.   The Tru3D conversion kit is simple enough.  It consists of Mitsubishi's 3DA-1 converter for its 3D capable DLP televisions and a spoofer that makes the converter thing it's talking to a Mitsubishi television.  Essentially, it's a way to use Mitsubishi's solution on your Samsung TV.

Tre3D is taking orders for the adapter kit now at a price of $289.  The adapters should start shipping later this month.

Finally it appears I have found a website than can possibly provide at a
significant additional expense, equipment needed to view 3D blu ray movies on my
Samsung HL72A650 manufactured December 2008, without having to go through a PC.
Being non-technical I still don't understand why with a PC is needed to watch a
movie. In any case I've spent lost of $$ for equipment I can't use, from
various sources, to include Samsung BD-C7900 3D bluray player, (later to find it
doesn't work with its own brand name tv) then buying Panasonic DMP-BDT100 bluray
player, Mitsubishi/Samsung IR Emitter, pair of Samsung SSG-2100AB glasses & 1.4
HDMI high speed cable. My concern is whether this adapter kit @ $289.00
could allow me to use with any of my existing equipment. If not then I would
have to again buy more equipment to watch 3D movies. This has been an expensive
undertaking to date & I just don't want to make any more costly mistakes. Any
answers to minimize additional $$ would be well received.
