The BX580 doesn't do anything remarkable and new.  It doesn't introduce some new feature that revolutionizes the industry and it won't shock you with its functionality.  LG's latest Blu-ray player simply does everything you'd expect a Blu-ray player released in 2010 to do.

It handles 3D and includes an HDMI 1.4 output.  It plays Blu-ray discs at 1080p, of course, and scales standard DVDs up to the same.  LG lists "Superior Audio Performance" as a feature, though exactly what that means is unclear.

The BX580 takes care of your digital files too.  It's DLNA compliant and thanks to built-in WiFi, you'll be able to stream from any computer in the house without having to hook up any wires.  It also allows you access to LG's NetCast, which includes Netflix, CinemaNow, VUDU, YouTube and plenty of other video and audio streaming services. You can pick up the BX580 now for a price of $349.
