Say what you will about Monster Cable, and we often do, the announcement of universal 3D glasses is huge.  One of the biggest problems with 3D televisions is the lack of a standard.  The fact that one pair of active shutter glasses doesn't work with every set is a hassle for the consumer and a marketing problem for the company.

The other problem is that of synchronization.  IR technology just doesn't work well when it comes to glasses.  If you turn your head and break the communication, your glasses need to re-sync.

Monsters glasses solve both of these problems.  When used with Monster's transmitter, the glasses will work with any 3D set, and even better, you'll never lose sync.    According to Monster, you'll even get 800 hours out of the lithium-polymer battery.

When Monster Cable releases its new glasses, you'll be able to pick up a pair of glasses for $169.95 and a transmitter for $59.95.  You'll also be able to pick up a bundle including one set of glasses and the transmitter for $249.95.  For those keeping score at home, yes, the bundle costs $20 more than buying each item separately.
