The folks at Sonos seem to have a thing for Apple products, and why shouldn't they?  A pretty big chunk of the world's population has an iPhone or an iPod Touch, and say what you will about the devices themselves, they make great touchscreen controllers.

So it only makes sense that the iPad is next in line for the Sonos treatment.  This August, a free app will be coming for iPad owners that will allow them to control the Sonos music system from the tablet itself.  But it's not just a port of the iPod app – there's some new functionality too.

For starters, you'll get a nice high resolution menu to browse through that works in both landscape and portrait alignments.  The coolest addition though is the multi-pane view, which allows you to see your menu, the currently playing songs in every room, your queue, and album art for the current track all at the same time.
