The release of LG's BX580 is timed quite nicely with the release of the first 3D Blu-ray.  And it makes sense, because the BX580 handles 3D right out of the box. The 580 doesn't redefine what a Blu-ray player is or offer features that no other player does, but it is a solid 3D-ready player.  It plays Blu-ray discs at 1080p/24 and upscales DVDs to 1080p.  On the audio side, it handles the usual assortment of HD audio formats.

The BX580 can do digital media too.  It's DLNA compliant and handles a strong range of file types.  If you've got DivX, XviD, MKV, AVI, MP3 or AAC files, the 580 can play them.  You can network the player thanks to built-in wireless capabilities or you can play files directly from a USB drive.

LG's BX580 gives you access to online content too.  It handles Netflix, Vudu, YouTube, CinemaNow and Pandora for your entertainment needs.  You can pick up the BX580 now for an MSRP of $400.
