One of the biggest gripes with video streaming is that it just doesn't live up to the quality of Blu-ray.  In most cases it doesn't even live up to the quality of an upscaled DVD.  That might not be a problem when you're watching Hulu on a 19 inch computer monitor, but take that same video to your 65 inch LCD and it just doesn't work.

Boxee, the makers of the popular Boxee software and the upcoming Boxee Box, are fully aware of the problem, and have teamed with Sonic Solutions to bring some HD content to their users.

Sonic Solutions is the company behind some of the biggest video on demand services around, like Best Buy's CinemaNow service and Blockbuster On Demand.  The partnership with Sonic means Boxee users will be able to access content from Sonics partners, who provide HD video and 5.1 surround sound for new release movies.

The new services should start showing up this fall in time for the November release of the Boxee Box.
