The iPad is a very cool device that's got plenty of practical applications.  Sure, you can play games and check your Facebook page, but it's capable of so much more.  Home automation especially benefits from the iPad's capabilities, and Savant has definitely recognized the need for a slick way to integrate the device.  To that end, they've created a pair of docking stations for the iPad.

The desktop charging dock isn't anything new.  It looks nice and all, but it's basically the same as any other docking station.  It supports the iPad in a near vertical position and charges it at the same time. The in-wall charge station is another story.  It's simple enough to install, and it surrounds the iPad with a frame.  You can install it in landscape or portrait alignments, and you can pick up frames in white, black, almond or a primer coat finish.

The desktop iPad dock will run you $350, while the in-wall docking station sells for $500.

Wow. So the dock is more expensive than the iPad itself!
