With all the 3D hype going around, it's a little refreshing to see a company releasing standard Blu-ray players.    That's not to say the Toshiba BDX2500 and BDX2700 don't have plenty of features though.

Both the 2500 and 2700 are capable of 1080p/24 playback, which is quickly becoming a standard even on entry level Blu-ray players.  They can upconvert standard DVDs, and play videos and music from a USB drive or SD card.

You've got access to the most popular internet video services – Netflix, Blockbuster and Vudu – as well as a few music services like Pandora.  The BDX2500 will need to be plugged in to get online, but the BDX2700 has WiFi capability built right in.

Both players also support Dolby True HD and DTS-Master Audio.  They're capable of sending sound out through HDMI of course, or through 7.1 channel analog outputs. The BDX2500 costs $179, while the 2700 will run $249.  Both players are available now.
