After much speculation, rumors and information leaks, Google announced their Google TV initiative.  There's a lot we already knew, or at least suspected, but there are a few new tidbits of information coming out.

First off, it's been confirmed that Sony will be making the first television with Google TV baked in.  Logitech will be making remotes, but also a set-top box that will provide Google TV to older sets.  Intel is supplying CE1400 Atom chips to run the whole thing.

Dish Network announced that they've already been testing Google TV with some of their customers.  Dish has also announced that they'll be the first to offer Google TV compatibility.  Subscribers will be able to search through their Netflix queue, YouTube, their DVR and Dish programs at the same time.

If you're worried about compatibility with web content, you can rest easy.  Google TV will fully support Flash 10.1.
With partners like Sony, Best Buy and Intel on board, the Google TV is going to be getting an impressive push.  It should be exciting to see just what comes out.
