If you're a DirecTV subscriber, you should probably be excited about this. The Whole-House DVR is one of the coolest things to happen to TV in a while. If you go with the Whole-House DVR, you'll have a single DVR for your home. It handles recording and playback for the entire house. If you're in a room with a DirecTV box, you'll be able to schedule recordings, and play back recorded shows just as if you had the DVR in the room.
There's no more need to worry about which DVR you recorded 'Lost' on, or trying to figure out the best way to get a show from the DVR in your bedroom to the TV in your living room. Since it's all centralized onto one storage device, you'll be able to get the same content on any set in the house. The price is right too. DirecTV subscribers will only have to shell out $3 a month for the new Whole-Home DVR service. |
