High-Def Digest was started back during the high definition format wars; back when the advantages of HD-DVD and Blu-ray were hotly contested.  There weren't many other options for HD content, but the landscape has changed.

"Blu-ray is a terrific format," writes High-Def Digest's Josh Zyber in the mission statement for The Bonus View.  "We’ll continue to give it all the attention it deserves, which is a lot. At the same time, there’s so much more to high definition than just Blu-ray. It’s time to expand our scope."

And that's just what The Bonus View is all about.  The new look of HD is more than just one blue disc.  It's HD television coming over the cable box.  It's Netflix streaming on TVs and game consoles. It's the near Blu-ray quality Vudu downloads.  The Bonus View won't just be sticking with traditional video either.  Videogames, mobile video, home theater gear and 3-D are all in the mix.

To celebrate the launch, High-Def Digest is giving away a Blu-ray player along with a "guilty pleasure" Blu-ray set including 'Ninja Assassin‘, ‘Last Action Hero‘, ‘The Waterboy‘, ‘Black Dynamite‘, and ‘The Proposal‘.  Jump on over to the new blog and submit your suggestion for the best "guilty pleasure" movie – you know, the ones you're embarrassed to love –that's not yet on Blu-ray.
