When I got my dad a Blu-ray player, there was one thing he wanted to watch above all else.  "Oh, let's go get Star Wars," he said.  And who could blame him?  It makes perfect sense.  Finally getting to see 'Star Wars' in high definition would be a treat.  But until recently, there's been no indication of the holy trilogy getting the Blu-ray treatment.

At a panel at the C2E2 convention in Chicago, it was revealed that a box set of all six 'Star Wars' movies is in the works.
Steve Sansweet of Lucasfilms had this to say.  "We have been at work for a couple of years working on - I won't call it the Ultimate Set because we keep finding stuff - but, a very full set of all six movies on Blu-ray with lots of extra material."

"We're finding all kinds of scenes from dailies that have never been seen before," he added.  "Beyond all of those things that you know about... there are some real treasures."

It sounds like a pretty impressive set, and there's going to be a lot of hype for the release.  It's currently looking like the set will hit on October 11th.  The one thing that I, and I'm sure many others, are hoping to hear about is whether the original theatrical versions of the original trilogy will be available.  As much as I'm excited by 'Star Wars' in Blu-ray form, I'm hoping Han will be shooting first.
