April has been a big month for Blu-ray releases.  Just two weeks ago ‘The Lord of the Rings’ finally made its Blu-ray debut, and this week brings us the biggest movie of last year.  Read on to find out what's being released on Blu-ray tomorrow!

Avatar

James Cameron’s creation is hitting shelves on Thursday, April 22nd, and it’s expected to sell big.  ‘Avatar’ was the most popular movie of last year and its arrival in disc form has been hotly anticipated.  The downside to this release though is that it’s an entirely bare-bones production.  If you’re looking for special features, bonus footage or 3D video, you’re going to have to wait.

Minority Report

If you can’t wait until Thursday for your fix of digital action, Minority Report is a great way to go.  It’s a fantastic flick from Spielberg and stars Tom Cruise, Colin Farrell and Max Von Sydow.  ‘Minority Report’ is bound to look great on Blu-ray and it’s got plenty of new high definition supplements exclusive to the Blu-ray.

Battleship Potemkin

Sergei Eisenstein created this film back in 1925 as a revolutionary propaganda piece.  It may have been all but forgotten except for his use of the technique known as ‘montage.’  It never attracted the audiences he hoped it would, but its legacy lives on today with the original violence and introduction restored.

Other Releases Include:

44 Inch Chest
The Basketball Diaries
Cheech and Chong's Hey Watch This
Chickenfoot: Get Your Buzz On – Live
Crazy Heart
The Drawn Together Movie: The Movie!
A Fork in the Road
The Lovely Bones
Summer Hours
Vivre sa vie
The Young Victoria
