Mitsubishi isn’t known for making small DLPs.  In fact, it’s quite the opposite.  Their sets start at 60 inches and move up from there.  This year, Mistubishi Digital Electronics America (MDEA) has created DLPs up to 82 inches diagonally.

All of Mitsubishi’s new DLP models sport the 3D DLP link, Plush 1080p, a trio of HDMI inputs and MDEA’s 6-color processor.  They’ve got HDMI-PC compatibility and inputs for component and composite sources.  The base model, the 638 series, comes in 60, 65, and 73 inch sizes starting at $1,199.

If you step up to the 738 series, you’ll be able to take advantage of a wider selection of screen sizes and internet media capability.  You’ll have to pick up an adapter to go wireless, but you’ll have access to the StreamTV platform which includes Facebook, Twitter and VuDu.  You’ll also get a 12-bit video processor and Advanced Video Calibration.  The 738 starts at 60 inches for $1,399 and goes up to 82 inches for $3,799.

The Diamond 838 series is the best of the bunch.  Not only does it have all the functionality of the other sets, but it adds ISFccc Video Adjustments, but surround and subwoofer outputs.  It’s also got 16-speaker Immersive Sound technology that can provide virtual surround or act as a center channel.

The 838 series runs $2,199 for the 65 inch model, $1,799 for the 73, and $4,499 for the 82 inch set.
