LG has been making big moves overseas.  They’re capitalizing on the 3D movement, specifically the amount of 3D coverage that soccer’s been getting, by rolling out commercial grade passive 3D televisions.  The LD950s in pubs have proven popular enough LG’s going to start selling to consumers.

The LD950 is a Full HD 1080p set that sports TruMotion 200Hz – the UK has a 50Hz standard refresh rate instead of 60Hz – playback of Divx files and passive 3D technology.  The set will come complete with a set of four polarized glasses, with additional pairs available.

LG is the only of the major manufacturers to announce a passive display at all, let alone one that will be imminently available. There’s no word yet as to whether the US will be getting this passive display, but LG’s LD950 will be available this May in the UK at an as of yet unannounced price.
