The iPhone seems unstoppable in the mobile market, and CE makers of all types have responded to make their products more attractive to iPhone owners.  A lot of companies didn’t quite get it and their iPhone tie-ins fizzled.  For Pioneer it was nothing but successful.

“Last year, the Pioneer line of A/V receivers set record growth” said marketing manager David Bales. “[that] dramatic growth was a direct result of our enhancements to convenience and connectivity options expected from Apple users.”  The latest Pioneer receivers feature iPhone connectivity, but two – the VSX-1020-K and VSX-1120-K – include compatibility for the iControl AVR iPhone app, which lets you use your iPhone as a controller.

The VSX-1120-K, the flagship of the series, adds THX Select2 Plus certification to the feature set.  It also sports Marvell Qdeo video processing, while the others in the lineup use Anchor Bay processing.  All of the receivers in the lineup are 3D capable and feature HDMI 1.4 inputs.  They’re also capable of streaming music from Bluetooth devices including smartphones.  And as a nice added feature, every one of the new receivers, including the entry level VSX-920-K, sports 7.1 channel audio output.

You can pick up the VSX-920-K and VSX-1020-K this May for MSRPs of $399 and $549 respectively.  The VSX-1120-K will be out this June at a price of $749.
