If you use an Nvidia Geforce card in your home theater PC, then 3DTV Play may be the perfect solution.  It’s only $50, it’s compatible with most newer GeForce cards and it handles both 3D Blu-ray discs and 3D gaming.  On the downside, it’s only compatible with Nvidia cards.

If you’re using an HTPC that’s got an Intel or ATI graphics card, Cyberlink’s PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D is the way to go.  It offers 3D Blu-ray playback and a feature called TrueTheater 3D that converts standard two dimensional video into 3D.

For those not into the whole 3D thing, PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D still offers 5.1 channel DTS decoding, support for 7.1 channel Dolby TrueHD, and support for a wide variety of formats including AVCHD and Divx Pro.  PowerDVD 10 Ultra 3D is priced around $99.
