The new line of Dragonfly screens from SnapAV is built with simple installation and silent running in mind. SnapAV’s latest Tab Tension screens were created to deliver the same visual performance as the highly acclaimed fixed screens, but with the convenience of a motorized screen. Setup, says SnapAV, couldn’t be simpler. “Mounting brackets install in seconds, the screen in a minute. Locking it down is as simple as using a screw gun. Literally.” These screens have a .9 gain, which means they’ll help out contrast for projectors with weak black levels or in environments with a bit more ambient light. The motor is nice and quiet and the average drop time is thirteen seconds, but you can expect it to run a bit longer if you get a bigger screen. One of the coolest additions to the Dragonfly line is built-in IR and RF capability. Having an IR receiver built in to the unit means there’s no need for an external box or a more complicated installation. RF capability means you can set up the screen to lower when the projector is turned on, rather than having to input the commands separately. Screens are available to dealers now and range in price from $1,099 up to $2,799. |
