The results are in, and several of Denon’s receivers have been approved by Microsoft as Windows 7 compatible.  Microsoft put the receivers through a series of tests for not only compatibility, but reliability as well. The AVR-4310CI, AVR-3310CI, and AVR-990 have all passed certification. So has the new 9.3 channel multi-zone AVR-4810CI.

A pair of iPod docks – the ASD-51W and ASD-51N also met the standards.  With networking capability becoming increasingly important for all home theater components, this is a nice step forward for Denon.  In addition to the functionality, Denon receivers will also get nice “Windows 7  Compatible” stickers to show off their new abilities.

“Windows 7 compatibility will let users dramatically expand their home entertainment universe and explore all kinds of exciting new options,” says Pioneer’s Jeff Talmadge.  “With Windows 7's 'Play To' feature for example, users will be able to stream music, video and photos to any compatible device on their network quickly and easily, without any complicated setup procedure.”
