As evidenced by this year’s Consumer Electronics show, glasses free 3D displays still have a long way to go before they’ll be ready for mainstream consumption. Visisol and QTEC see a demand though, and they intend to satisfy that demand.
I-Tec, the parent company of QTEC, is a supplier of OEM products for a variety of companies, including Panasonic and Denon. They’re now hoping that their own products will be received will be consumers in Europe and North America. The multi-year deal signed this week grants Visisol exclusive rights to distribution of QTEC products. Among the CE goodies that will be coming from QTEC will be Blu-ray players both 2D and 3D, Digital Audio Players, and a glasses free 3D display. There’s no word yet on the availability of the products or the pricing on the display, but it sounds like Visisol wants to get it out as soon as possible. “We are currently exploring many different applications for our 3D “glasses-free” technology,” said Visisol CEO Bill Gardner, “We are ready to run fast, develop new markets, and provide the highest quality service and innovative experiences for consumers.” |
