If you’ve been looking around on Amazon today, you may have noticed that Samsung’s new Blu-ray players – including their first 3D player, the BD-C6900 – are now listed. Though, at the moment of this writing, all but the BD-C6900 appear to have been pulled.
It’s not uncommon for Amazon to unintentionally put items up for grabs before the companies say it’s okay. It happened with the Zune HD and it regularly happens with game systems, though it’s usually not the US based Amazon that does it. There’s not a release date listed for any of these players yet, but if Amazon pricing is to be believed, they range from $299 on up to $399. The quick booting but two dimensional BD-C6500 was priced at $299, while its 2D big brother, the BD-C7500, was priced $399. These both appear to have been removed from Amazon, though whether it’s due to incorrect information or simply being listed to early, we can only guess. The BD-C6900 is still up and priced at $399. There’s not an availability date listed on the players yet. There was no immediate response from Samsung when asked about the accuracy of the listings. |
