It’s been less than two weeks since the Consumer Electronics Show, and announcements of new products are already beginning to flow again.  LG’s 3D projector was on display at the show, and I had the opportunity to demo it, but at the time there wasn’t much information as far as a release date or pricing were concerned.

Today LG officially announced that the CF3D, the first Full HD single lens projector, will be made available in May of this year.  The price, on the other hand, remains a mystery. The CF3D incorporates a technology normally found in televisions – TruMotion 120Hz – to take care of image smoothing.  It’s also got some new features, like 3D Auto Picture Calibration technology which should help to ensure a better, more lifelike 3D experience.

LG’s new 3D projector has a brightness rating of 2,500 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 7,000:1. It features a pair of HDMI inputs that include upscaling for lower resolution signals.  The CF3D can play back films in their customary 24fps format, as well as (we suspect) 60 frames per second.  It’s also ISFccc ready.
