Anthem is set to release its new Blu-ray player with promising build quality. The unit is compatible with most of today's media formats. The player also supports additional features to make BD-Live interactivity faster and more user-friendly.
The unit features 1 GB of onboard memory for BD-Live features. In addition there is a 2 GB USB flash drive for added memory. The BLX-200 supports true 24 fps to display Blu-ray films the way they were natively shot. User selectable resolution outputs allow the user to bypass the unit's de-interlacing and processing to send the original video to an external processor. In terms of audio, the unit supports bitstream and decoding of each of today's formats including TrueHD, DTS-HD and all lossy codecs. The BLX-200's support of AVCHD allows movies in the HD format to be burned on standard DVDs and played back. The unit is modest in its outputs. There is a component and composite video output in addition to HDMI. The unit also features both a digital coaxial and toslink audio ooutput. The BLX-200 is listed at $799. |
