THIEL’s CES booth holds their new Universal SmartSub (USS). This is the offspring of the SmartSub SS1. Reports show that the subwoofer reproduces frequencies down to 10Hz. The sub comes powered with a mega 500-Watt analog amplifier, which is rare in this day and age. The USS has a 10-inch aluminum woofer. The USS also comes with patented boundary compensation and thermal compression compensation circuitry.
The THIEL USS comes in a variety of finishes including Natural Cherry,
Black Ash and Dark Cherry. The subwoofer is expected to start shipping
in the beginning of this year. The subwoofer may be at a new price
point, but that still coems in at $1,990.
