It’s been sixty years since McIntosh started creating some of the most impressive hi-fi products around, starting with their 50W-1 power amplifier.  We think that’s a run worth celebrating, and apparently so do they. To mark the occasion, McIntosh is releasing its first ever standalone integrated audio system.

It was designed by the same team that created the company’s reference system, and was created with quality as the primary concern. The MXA60 Integrated Audio System consists of a CD/SACD/MP3 player, an AM/FM/RBDS Tuner, a 75 watt per channel amplifier and a two-way bass reflex loudspeaker system.

It sports an all metal case with aluminum accents and glass faceplates covering Peak Reading Wattmeters for a look that’s a bit of the conventional with a touch of elegance. McIntosh promises ultimate music reproduction from the MXA60 thanks to a transistor based amplifier with fuseless short circuit protection and Power Guard anti-clipping circuitry for distortion free performance.

The two way loudspeakers were designed in the same vein as McIntosh’s much beloved mini monitors and are said to produce high quality sound via the custom designed 4” mid-woofers. The McIntosh MXA60 is available now at an MSRP of $7,500.
