The daily ritual of showering is one that has long presented man with the problem of entertainment.  Standing under hot water is only novel for so long, and shower radios have lost their appeal to a jaded consumer market.  The bath isn’t much better, for each time a book, an iPod or personal media player is brought out, there’s the chance that it’ll end up under water.

Roca Designs, a high end bathroom designer, has possibly created the optimal solution.  Given the name The Waterdrop for its unique shape, Roca’s shower and tub solution offers hours of entertainment thanks to the inclusion of a – presumably waterproof – touchscreen display.  By using the screen, bathers are able to control not only music and video but water temperature and the intensity of the shower or bath jets.

The top piece moves independently from the bottom to allow easy access for showers, if bathing isn’t your thing, and both video and audio can be filtered in for those that prefer a musical experience over that of a full movie. This product does not yet appear to be available in Roca’s general catalog, so technical details are sketchy at best.  As is typical with Roca, this will certainly be priced to match its extravagancy.
