The BeoVision 10 has been announced, and in typical Bang & Olufsen fashion, the television is being advertised as not a piece of home theater equipment, but a work of art. A wall mounted 40” flat screen with a 240Hz refresh rate, B&O’s new LCD display isn’t anything new, though the bottom mounted speakers and brushed aluminum frame are a nice touch. What’s different about the BeoVision 10 though, is an uncharacteristically low price point of around $8,700 USD. The main change here can be attributed to Kalle Hvidt Nielsen, CEO of B&O since May of 2008. “I'm trying to help the organization to make the best decisions. Right now my gut feeling says to me that it was a very, very good decision to run with this TV” he stated in a recent interview with Netherlands based TV-2. “I think gives a pretty good price staircase, which means that people will hopefully come in and look at it,” he continues. “I am well aware that we do not appeal to everyone - we appeal primarily to the higher value segment, but within the segment, people can choose how much they will spend on a TV.” |
