Packed in right among the CEATEC announcements for $75,000 professional grade televisions with 4K2K screens and crazy singing robots is the debut of a new entry level projector from Panasonic. With the PT-AE4000U, Panasonic hopes to provide a high quality projector at a fairly low price point.  Offering a 1080p image and a stated contrast ratio of 100,000:1, the new LCD projector hopes to improve over its predecessor, the PT-AE3000U.

It still offers a Lens Memory feature, as introduced in the former model, but the PT-AE4000U takes things up a bit by introducing an enhanced Intelligent Lens Memory that lets users program up to six different zoom/focus options, as well as programmable 12V triggers.

Frame count can be set from 24 frames per second all the way up to 120 frames per second, and additional advanced features have been added for further calibration.  An advanced gamma function and waveform monitor should help users to get just the right picture.  The PT-AE4000U features three HDMI inputs as well as connections for VGA, component and S-video.  Available this month, the PT-AE4000U will retail for $2,499.
