SIM2 is rolling out the Grand Cinema™ C3X LUMIS projector, a 1080p DLP projector that uses Texas Instruments DC4 chipset.  It also utilizes SIM2's proprietary ALPHAPATH light engine and their DynamicBlack technology.  The brightness is rated at 3000 ANSI lumens and SIM2 claims the contrast ratio ranges up to 35,000:1.  Black level performance is also supposed to be improved via a combination of DynamicBlack tech, an adjustable iris and a lamp that can be dimmed.

The light engine utilizes new components, a tapered rod-injector to focus the beam of light and a die-cast aluminum body to improve the heat management.  SIM2 claims that the new design improves the quality and efficient of the light transmission.  The unit comes with a choice of three different lens options and comes with a standard set of inputs for connecting up various home theater components.  The C3X is available in high gloss or matte finishes in 4 colors (Gun Metal, Black, White and Red) and is priced between $34,995 and $36,495 depending on the lens selection.
