Along with a pair of lower end home theater projectors, Epson revealed the details on the new Pro Cinema 9100 and 9500 UB projectors. Both projectors feature Epson’s 3LCD and D7 technologies, as well as Cinema Filter.  Each is capable of putting out a 1080p signal and boast ISF certification allowing the fine tuning of the picture, but the similarities end there.

With 1800 lumens brightness and a 36,000:1 maximum contrast ratio, the Pro Cinema 9100 is the less expensive of the two.  Available in October at $2,599, Epson’s 9100 features improvements in contrast over older models, thanks to a Dynamic Iris system allowing frame by frame light control.

The higher end Epson Pro Cinema 9500 UB will be shipping in November at a price expected to be just below $4000 – though no official price has yet been announced.  The 9500 UB features a 200,000:1 contrast ratio, with a 1600 lumen output.  Adding to the picture quality of the 9500 UB is a built in Silicon Optix HQV Reon-VX video processor and PW390 scaler.

Marge Ang, senior product manager at Epson says these projectors are perfect for customer installations.  “These latest Pro Cinema projectors have been packed with a range of value-add features and technology refinements” she stated.  “[These features] allow custom installers to build a customized high-performance, home entertainment system for their discerning customers”
