Adding to their A series of projectors, Samsung’s latest 1080p DLP is built as an entry point for customers who want quality without shelling out the big bucks.  While it’s a slimmed down version to be sure, the A600 has taken a great deal from the higher end projectors in the line. The A600 features DLP technology and a full HD 1080p picture, with automatic color correction based on SMPTE-C and EBU broadcast standards.

For a sub $2,000 projector, the A600 shines bright, with up to 1,000 ANSI lumens and a 3,000:1 contrast ratio.  Of course, getting the most out of the 220watt bulb means the use of the A600’s eco mode, which will net an extra thousand hours of life, around 4,000 all said and done. Samsung’s Tom Grau sees this as a great way to get started in home theater.  “The A600 is a great alternative to the entry-level projectors that lack the Full HD quality,” he says.  “We have incorporated the technology of our higher end models into the A600 to bring the movie-like viewing experience within reach of more people.”

The A600 is shipping soon at a estimated $1,795.
