Harmon has done a refresh on its AVR line of receivers, with new feature sets to match.  All models, the AVR 1600, AVR 2600 and AVR 3600 feature support for HD audio formats, as well as EzSet/EQ, a program designed to allow simple setup for novice home theater enthusiasts.

On the higher end of the spectrum, both the AVR 2600 and AVR 3600 offer Dolby Volume, preventing sharp contrasts in sound when switching to different sources, or even different television channels and overly loud commercials.  The 2600 and 3600 also sport 7.1 channel audio outputs, and improved upscaling utilizing Faroduja “Torino” technology.

The AVR 3600, pushing 80 Watts per channel, is the only of the three receivers to offer The Bridge III, Harmon’s universal iPod and iPhone dock for charging, as well as playing of music and video.  Harmon boasts their receiver as one of few capable of playback of HD video from the iPod.  Also exclusive to the AVR 3600 is the ability to act as a full multiroom audio system, including a Zone II remote.

Harmon’s new line of receivers will be shipping this month with suggested retail prices of $599.95 for the AVR 1600, $799.95 for the AVR 2600 and $1199.95 for the AVR 3600.
