Comprising of a pair of bookshelf speakers, floor standing speakers, center channel speakers and now a pair of subwoofers, B&W is calling their CM line complete. The final touch – the ASW 12 CM subwoofer.
While similar to the ASW 10, the 12 is a step up in practically every aspect. Bowers and Wilkins’ newest addition boasts a twelve inch Kevlar/paper cone in a larger enclosure and with a larger amplifier. Ensuring a deeper bass due to its larger size, the ASW 12 has a dual suspension configuration which not only maintains cone alignment, but prevents sound distortion. Along with the 500 watt Class D amplifier, a fair amount of control is available. A three position switch helps tune the ASW 12 to the room, and crossover points are able to be set anywhere from 40 Hz to 140 Hz. The B&W ASW 12 CM will be available in September at a suggested price of $2000. |
