McIntosh, known for their craftsmanship in preamps and power amps, has announced that they will be releasing an integrated audio system, the MXA60, in honor of their 60th anniversary.  This will be the company's first venture into a complete standalone audio system.  The system will feature an amplifier, almost universal player, preamplifier, tuner and speakers.

The power amplifier will deliver 75-watts per channel.  The audio player will be capable of Redbook Audio CD, SACD and MP3 disc playback.  The preamplifier will consist of vacuum tubes.  The tuner will be capable of AM/FM/RBDS.  The speakers are of a two-way, bass reflex design.

The look of the system will not deviate from the McIntosh signature.  It will contain backlit glass faceplates, solid metal casing and aluminum accents.  Keep a look out for this system as it is scheduled for release in October of 2009, but will retail for a hefty price of $7,500.
